Privacy Policy

Effective May 12, 2026

Overview

This privacy policy describes how Citizens Commission on Human Rights, San Francisco chapter ("CCHR San Francisco," "we," "us") handles information collected through cchrsf.org. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information.

Information collected on most pages

Most pages of cchrsf.org do not use cookies or analytics. Our web host records standard server access logs (IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained only for as long as our host retains them and are not used for advertising.

Advertising pixels

Some pages on cchrsf.org — typically pages we use as destinations for paid social media advertising — include a Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta" / Facebook) advertising pixel. When you visit one of these pages, the pixel causes your browser to send the following information to Meta:

  • The page URL you are viewing and the referring URL
  • Your IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Browser and device information (user agent, screen size, language)
  • Meta cookies set on your browser, which may identify you to Meta if you have a Facebook or Instagram account
  • Whether you clicked a ticket or RSVP button on the page (a "Lead" event)

Meta uses this information to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, to attribute ad clicks to actions taken on our site, and to show our ads to people who are likely to be interested in our exhibit. Meta's handling of this data is governed by Meta's own privacy policy, available at facebook.com/privacy/policy/.

We do not run advertising campaigns targeting the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the European Economic Area. Our ads are targeted to United States audiences.

Information you submit through forms

Some pages on cchrsf.org include forms — typically hosted on Google Forms — that ask you to submit contact information such as your name, email address, and phone number, for example when you RSVP to an event. We collect this information so we can:

  • Confirm your submission and send you related details, reminders, and updates;
  • Contact you about logistics related to your submission, including by phone if necessary;
  • Email you about future CCHR San Francisco exhibits, events, and campaigns.

Responses are stored in services controlled by CCHR San Francisco (such as Google Forms and Google Sheets). We do not sell this information, and we do not share it with advertisers. If you would like us to delete your information from our records, email privacy@cchrsf.org and we will remove it.

Other embedded third-party content

Some pages embed third-party content such as Google Maps embeds and video players. When you interact with that content, the third party may collect information about your visit under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

  • You can adjust how Meta uses information for advertising at accountscenter.facebook.com/ads and in Facebook's ad preferences.
  • You can block the pixel by using your browser's tracking-protection settings, by enabling "Do Not Track," or by using a content blocker.
  • You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, which will limit Meta's ability to associate your visit with your Meta account.

Children

cchrsf.org is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@cchrsf.org and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected by updating that date.
